Resting helps - 19 weeks

Spent 6 days in cancun….just relaxing, going to the pool and snorkeling…no exercise and a lot of eating/drinking.

got back to san diego and can do three complete toe raises before breaking down my form on the 4th and 5th one.

couldn’t do one before the trip….so rest and don’t overwork!

    Time and ADL definitely help us recover, though exercise and PT do often speed the process. And overdoing definitely slows it down.

    Agreed norm,

    before the vacation, i was following a toe raise progression workout which doesn’t have a week of rest in it. I was going at it 5 days a week. the week of rest accelerated my strength.

    5 days a week to push hard it more than weight-lifters and body-builders do. All those micro-tears in the muscles need a day or two to repair, to make the muscle stronger than before. I think RyanB and Kevin may both have uploaded some detailed exercise schedules that leave time for between-session rest.
