Week 25 & 26 – A gentle reminder

Sorry for the late post (I missed the 26th week by one day), but life seems to get in the way of blogging.

 

Since the last posting, I’ve been staying fairly steady with my run speed 6:27-6:15/km pace and my left side has felt more normal than ever. Over the last week I had slowly jacked up the speed to as much as 5:45/km for an extended period of time.

 

However, on November 28th, I was humming along on a run just before my physio appointment and then suddenly for a brief second or two, I felt like I had no muscles on my left side. I was spooked big time. It reminded me of those first few moments after the ATR, so I immediately slowed the treadmill down and walked the rest of the time. Everything was fine, but I think my body sent me a gentle reminder that I am not 100% yet, and I should still be careful. So I’ll take it easy on the speed.

 

I still have a hump at my bottom scar. I would post pictures but it still looks like the last set of pics of my leg. Physio still consists of the hydro bath, ultrasound, laser and deep massage of the hump and surrounding areas. I have also added a general massage once every two weeks.

 

All is good. I hope all is well for all of you out there too. If you care about this sort of thing, I’ve have posted all my Run/Walk workouts. This doesn’t include my biking and swimming.
