6 Months!

I have reached the 6 month mark and am thrilled to report I have a happy and smooth ride through my second ATR.

I was unsure about taking a non-surgical recovery initially, but it has been a fantastic experience. I was FWB at 2 weeks and had an early start with PT (4 weeks). Hindsight is a wonderful thing and it is a relief to be looking back over the last 6 months and know that my recovery could not have been any better.

For now I still have a little bit of strength to regain, but I am able to enjoy most things- down hill and skate skiing, yoga, rowing and gym work. I will probably by pass classic skiing this winter and will start a running program in the spring.

For those who are starting out, be patient and stay positive- there is no reason not to come out with a full recovery!

    Hey there…it’s so good to see you! I’m happy for your progress!

    Being a few months ahead of me yours is one of the first blogs I read. I was just doing your Balancing Act exercises the other day! I started them at 10 weeks and now at 14 weeks I can do all of them and for longer periods! YAY you for creating them!…and thanks so much. Like you I am a yoga person.

    If anyone hasn’t seen them go to My Balancing Act in Herewegoagain’s December archives. They are hard but a FUN challenge!

    Donna- I am so glad the balancing exercises have been useful, I have basically mastered them all but will keep going through the routine weekly. They have been a great lesson to me in how we can make substantial physical changes if we spend as little as 10 minutes a day on an activity regularly. Strong core is my current target!
