8 weeks on Thurs - FUN BEGINS!

Hi All,

Countdown starts as I look forward to having cast removed & finally into shoes, its been a long but bearable 7+ weeks so feeling nervous & excited as D-Day looms.  Since ATR  i’ve had fortnightly cast changes with angled foot (not quite 90 deg now but close enough) diagnosed with DVT in calf muscle, developed a nice winter coat for the harsh NZ weather & have learned some basic spanish.  Clotting in calf doesn’t bother me, medication takes care of it & should break down, hopefully be off meds in another month or so.  Managed to keep weight gain under control (i keep telling myself that, partner has own opinion) thought i’d lose my mind & eat up everything in fridge & pantry but was able to stay away.  Guilty of eating bit more fast food than normal, my better half works shifts, she also had to pack & move our household contents all by herself as we moved to a new apartment couple days ago so don’t blame her for not wanting to cook & deal with my whinging.  Look forward to shedding extra kgs gained, have a gym in complex we live in & will take advantage of it, although i’ll be working closely with physio or personal trainer.  While horizontal, learnt some basic spanish for dummies & read a good book - Good Fullas, A Guide To Kiwi Blokes, by Marc Ellis.  Also kept sane by watching World Basketball Champs on the tube…well done Tall Blacks!

Hope everyone out there taking good care of ATRs, i enjoy reading all posts & will stay updated as clock ticks.
