13 days post operation
Hey everyone I am new. I ruptured my achilles May 30 while playing bball I have been reading alot of the posts for the last few days and they have been very helpful. I am currently in a heavily padded splint. I am having my stitches removed on Friday. achilles feels good however in the last few days i have been feeling a lot of tingling down there. No pain just tingling is that normal? I am hoping that my doctor puts me in a boot on friday
Good luck getting “the boot” on Friday. I was feeling pretty good after 10 days as well and then they took the splint off. It gave me a false sense of stability. I was surprised how little my foot would move. Now in a cast, hopefully get the boot in 8 days. Don’t know about the tingling. Good luck and hang in there.
I had the tingling. I’m told that with the healing of the nerves, etc., that’s to be expected. Good luck with getting a boot. When you ditch those crutches, you’ll be happy as a clam! Chin up!
Thanks! the tingling almost drove me insane the first day it started. I had been in my back yard and was afraid that a ant had crawled inside of my splint. My doctor print out of the rehab protocol that he uses it seems pretty agressive so I have my fingers crossed.
