I’m in the same boat. I’m in the boot, and can get around without crutches for the most part. I definitely get tired, and at the end of the day my ankle is pretty swollen.

As others have mentioned, ice and elevation has an almost immediate effect; within an hour it’s much better.

Hi, I’m in the boot - 5 weeks post op and doc wants me to walk 5 steps sans crutches in a week and half. So I’m gradually going pWB more and more each day to reach 5 steps worth of FWB. These last three days of just one crutch have created uncomfortable pain (not enough to worry), numbness on the outside of my foot, and swelling. I’ve had ZERO issues with swelling since I’m elevated all day until now with more pressure on the foot. I’ved iced (I prefer corn to peas) the last couple of nights and it works itself out, but I hear from the site that this is going to be normal while we try to get to FWB and then beyond as we are on it more and more.
