Ok, I admit it, I tried going 2 shoes today. Granted it was only on the flat hard surface of my kitchen, but, ah, bliss! I’ve missed being 2 shoes. I saw the dr. last week & he said I could start to lose the training leg. I use it only when I know I’ve got a lot of walking to do. He also said I could be 2 shoes in a couple weeks if the PT says it’s good. That’ll be so good! Hard to believe it’s 7 weeks post op! Measured my calf- 1″ difference between the good & bad side. Still waiting to start PT. In the meantime, I’ve gone ahead with some of the usual PT exercises I know are coming up- drawing ABCs with the toes, toe points & dorsiflexing, using a theraband, even gingerly tried a few supported calf raises.
I’ve also been watching a lot of Olympics & making good use of my ice therapy machine. So good to come home to that after work! Still getting some swelling after a day on my feet. Watching all these healthy 2 shoed people…sigh. What’s everyone’s favorite sport to watch in the Olympics?
