OMG Finally some GOOD news for a change.
June 9th, 2015
Well as always in my world with this thing is not easy. Today went back to the OS for a dressing change and FINALLY its starting to look like a scabbed over wound again and not an open sore! I am not longer doing the over the top dressing and wound care changes. He sent me home with just a band aid on it and now I am to hydrogen peroxide it twice a day to dry it out.
Back to see him again next week. I will be sooooo glad when this part is over!

Yea! Awesome news! Mine infusion is almost closed, as well, and I am now walking in two shoes. I am able to FWB for a few steps but I feel very unsteady and mostly use the walker for support. I find the walker much easier than the crutches. I also have a limp as my foot won’t flex past neutral yet. Have you been wearing the boot while healing the wound? I couldn’t because it rubbed the incision. I was wearing a fleece splint ever since 6 weeks because of the constant friction on the incision site. I wore the boot for 1 day and began PWB. I felt the incision being irritated again so I took of the boot and got into 2 shoes. I am telling you this because if the boot bothers your wound you probably can get into 2 shoes without a problem. Taking those first steps us much more mental than physical, trust me!!! Once I got passed that I was able to take those first steps. I still have some hesitation, especially first thing in the morning when my ankle is extremely stiff and tight.
any good news is great news! Awesome
