On October 11th & 12th , the Women’s Sports Foundation (the organization I now work for) is hosting  a Charity Ride at Flywheel Indoor Studio in New York City. The event is in conjunction with our Annual Salute to Women in Sports awards gala and will help raise money for programs that combat childhood obesity.

Please consider sponsoring my ride with a donation to Women’s Sports Foundation in support of GoGirlGo! – a wonderful program that makes it possible for thousands of girls each year to participate in sports activities — free of charge.

I know that a lot of you out there are athletes — that’s how we got into this predicament.  If you are willing and able, please use the link below to make a donation through At the website you will be able to choose an amount to donate and receive email confirmation of your donation.  Any amount would be welcome!!

Thank you for your support!  ~Gail

Sounds like a good cause, Gail. Unfortunately, I think you found a way to post a blog page that doesn’t get any comments! :-(

I’m sure many more of us think loving thoughts about this web-site, too, than actually make donations to Dennis to help support it. Sad but true. . .

Point taken, Norm — but please note, I did get permission from Dennis to post this. If you can’t donate, I of course understand, I know that we all have our pet causes — but I am a fundraiser by trade and our motto is always “it never hurts to ask”.

P.S. I have supported the website in the past by purchasing a T-shirt last year when I was most active on the site. And I wear it proudly to advertise Dennis’ good works!

Gail, I didn’t mean anything negative about your appeal, or your cause, or anything — I was just stunned by the silence in this normally “chatty” group! And I attributed it to the fact that you were making an appeal for donations, so everybody hid.

No worries — no offense taken! Thanks for reading :)

gailaj - thanks for being a good sport about Norm’s comment. There have been plenty of posts without comments.. Apparently this one will have plenty of replies now. :)

Norm, you are offending people without even mentioning the UWO protocol. ;)

Seriously, thanks for all the comments and sharing your research on the site, but please consider how others could interpret your well intended or casual comments, before commenting. I have that problem myself, and it gets me in trouble every time. :(
