Hello Everyone! This is my story…

Hello! I am new to this Blog. I am new to blogging. I am 29 yrs old. I live in Northern Michigan. I am an executive assistant to a woman who runs many fitness business. I love fitness myself, dancing, massage therapist enjoy helping others find their passion! This is my story! I was initially injured August 26th. It was a freak accident. I was leaving a building and the bottom corner of the door clipped the back of my ankle. I had a very nasty cut. I went in for stitches. I keep telling the Physician’s assistant that I felt a terrible pain in my leg, Like a lightning bolt. I couldn’t even walk. He told me, I was ok and that I would recover no problem.
I was not healing like I had hoped. for 2 1/2 weeks I was limping, my right leg and foot was so swollen that sandals were the only shoe I could wear, even that was to tight. I felt like I was walking on a rod and something was snapping inside. yuck! I finally went back to get looked at. The whole time I was hoping that I was just being silly and that it was nothing to worry about.
I was very wrong. I was in the E.R. all day. Every test that was done I was given bad news. I had a swollen lymph node in my groin, a blood clot in my lower leg and the cherry on the cake…..my achilles was 99% severed.
I was horrified. In one day my very active life turned upside down.
My achilles had to be graphed with the tendon on the back of my calf. The surgery went great! I was receiving Lovenox on a daily basis for 2 weeks. (blood thinner that is in a shot form. goes in the belly) I am now on coumadin, blood thinner.
I had my stitches removed this past monday. My doctor readjusted my ankle and put me in a cast. On monday I go back to have the same procedure done again. I have been on crutches and off me feet for almost a month. I am doing my best to stay positive and active while sitting! Hoping to meet some new people and share experiences about the recovery process!
