off to the plastic surgeon

so i’m not looking forward to this, and i really don’t want to go through another procedure, but this afternoon i’m off to see a plastic surgeon.

i guess you can’t win em all.

Z-plasty is not a big deal and I can tell you that it works. I felt the same as you about not wanting to go through it(it was my 3rd surgery for this) but it was definitely worth it. You can’t go around with a hole in your leg indefinitely.

plastic surgeon is going to do a z-plasty, and maybe transplant some muscle tissue if necessary. he said if the z-plasty doesn’t look like it will make he would take some muscle out of my calf to transplant over the hole, and the chance of that happening was around 15%.

He did another culture and it came back negative. his office is going to call monday and let me know what day i’m scheduled for surgery.

you’re right gerry, i can’t go living the rest of my life with a hole in the back of my heel and the sooner i get this done the sooner i can finish rehabilitation of the injury and get back to a being active again.
