Another creative way to elevate is with your leg(s) leaning up against a wall, e.g., while you're lying backwards on your bed, either prone or supine. Sharpen your eyes, and look around for opportunities, and you'll probably find some new ones!

I don't know (or remember) the answer to your question about editing comments, csmva. I'm sure Dennis does. My first guess is that some "themes" (like blog "skins" -- you're using "fadtastic") permit it by default and others don't. I don't know if it can be user-changed within a theme or not.

The boredom gets much better once you get into a walking cast (which is essentially a high heel without the option to 'close' the ankle joint)

Make sure to elevate and ice: rather boring, but will pay off later

And I recommend a knee scooter of some sort

Good luck!

Thanks! I hadn't thought about trying to elevate prone - that is normally how I sleep so I think I'll try it today :)

Also, how do I allow people to edit comments? That wasn't an option under settings... hmm...

To make all those things WORK FOR YOU, I meant! (If you can let us edit our comments, you'll get "cleaner" comments!)

Using wheeled chairs, and padded footstools to kneel on? That was the only way I could brush my teeth without rushing it -- without doing it "while standing on one foot", so to speak!!

Theories on how best to elevate vary a lot. I just used footstools (with extra padding) and big pillows and bolsters in bed, on my back and sides. Others love elevating prone (face down), because you can do it without putting much weight on the cast or boot or incision or injury.

And some find that they have to elevate way up, leg over heart, while many of us elevated somewhat less high, though quite often.

One thing for sure: it helps to be creative in finding ways to make your home and chairs and pillows and pipe-wrap (to pad the crutches), etc., etc.
