Hi, Crzkdsmom! Glad to hear from you, even though the bad and the ugly are of some concern. the abscess that has to come to the surface is one that I don’t really understand, since I thought the Dr. would drain and disinfect… but I don’t have the MD degree. ;-)
As for your foot, I’m glad you are OK! (yes, in this blog we all focus on THE foot! LOL. Of course, its good to know your brother is better, too.
    Good luck with April!
    Happy healing……… Manny

Hi crazy mom, that’s great news to hear about your brother doing better. The accident is just a minor thing, as long as everyone is safe!!! Happy healing!!!

Thanks all! Van will be repaired, daughter’s car also. As far as the abcess goes he said that it’s a stitch that was left behind and has healed over. He doesn’t want to aggrevate it by poking at it. I go back on the 18th of April and he will check it again. He thinks it will be able to be dealt with by then! I was told to try to start doing more stretches and some knee bends to strengthen the calf muscle and stretch the achilles. Did a few yesterday. Wasn’t horrible but did feel the stretch! Doctor thought I was doing great and is very happy with me.

crzykdsmom it is good to read that there is a positive to your negatives :D

glad the abcess is minor and that it doesn’t require any poking

what do you mean by knee bends? as in standing upright and then bending over to touch your toes?

i have been doing my ‘learning to walk again’ in shoes out of the boot, and every now and again i can feel the damn stretch whilst walking (although i walk very carefuly!) and it scares the bejezaz out of me! at present the area is quite sensitive (not pain) and i’m putting it down to the sudden outburst of activity over the last 4 days….

    suerte

Crazykdsmom, so glad for the good, I’ve been worried. Sorry to hear about the bad.

Just keep your fingers off the abscess/scab lol. I find myself always rubbing my fingers over mine at night afraid a rough edge will catch on the sheets and rip if off and it gets so tempting when I find a loose healing edge to do just that so it won’t catch lol. Would that be considered an oxymoron? lol

    Keep well

pozaicer, for me knee bends mean a squat bending at the knees and trying to keep back straight and get my butt as close to the floor and my feet as possible without lifting my heels and standing on my toes to do it.

AKA I don’t get my butt down very far lol because I’m always raising up on my toes or the pain is just to bad in my knees and ankle.

oucha! metonia, i’m a good few weeks away from that! (week 9 and only 4 days out of the boot)

even if you don’t get the butt down that far it’s still scary as hell!

    keep the good work up!

    suerte

    Hey All!
Got my daughter ready for Prom tonight and just got home. Pozaicer - knee bends like metonia was saying. I don’t get but a couple of inches down but doc said to keep trying to get lower. Helps stretch the achilles. Metonia - I also pick at the scab, just like you I worry about a loose flap catching. I have also been using bio oil and lotion to help sluff it off before bed. Pozaicer, I too had the pulling sensation. Just had no option to slowing down. Was walking in and out of airports and hospital. Just had to keep on. Foot feels GREAT this week. If the darn stitch would just come out I’d feel pretty good. Hang in there all!!! BTW the husband just had xray of HIS foot - sprained ankle! He does NOT like crutches. I told him to suck it up!!!
