12 Weeks Post Op [finally back in 2 shoes!]

Hello everyone, I know it’s been a while. I’ve been so busy with summer classes that I’ve been neglecting my blog. A lot has happened in these past couple of weeks. I guess i should start by saying I am FINALLY back to 2 shoes. Thank God!
I got out of the boot on the 23rd of June. And it has been okay. Of course I don’t have a lot of strength in my calf but that is normal. My doc said that I can go back to regular activities except running of course. I’ve been going to PT every week it helps a little but not as much as I thought it would. I have a wonderful therapist and she works with me as much as she can. I’ve tried doing some strengthening of my own by going in the weight room and doing as many calf exercises my body can handle. It has helped tremendously. I walk with a slight limp but its not as bad as when I first got out of the boot.

I’ve also had a slight mishap this past weekend though and I’m so bummed about it. I went to the beach for the weekend of the 4th and I was in the water and stepped in a ditch so I think I might’ve sprained my ankle (the same as my injured achilles). I felt a little crack in my ankle and had to walk it off a bit. I don’t believe its broken, just sprained because I can still walk and it only hurts on one side. (A little bit above my right ankle bone.) It’s barely swollen and only hurts when I move my foot in a certain direction. I haven’t gone to the ER or the doctors yet because I’m trying to wait it out. It sucks. I shouldn’t have been so eager to jump back into regular activities no matter how much better I’ve been feeling. But hopefully it’ll get better. If not idk what I’ll do. Sucks to be me yet again. lol

Ouch! I hope it isn’t serious. I guess it’s a good warning that we need to be mindful even after getting into 2 shoes. I hope it isn’t anything serious.
