About
Hi, I’m coast2coast. I ruptured my left Achilles tendon playing flag football on November 3, 2013.
I’m in my mid-30s, live in D.C., am an attorney and work for the government doing landscape-scale conservation at the nexus of law, policy, budget, science, and planning. I’m just like a lot of guys who this happens to: varsity high school athlete, very active with lots of interests, went down doing something I’ve done hundreds of times.
Before the injury (and, with luck, after recovery) I enjoyed biking, running, skiing, softball, football, SCUBA diving, cliff jumping, obstacle course racing, water sports, hiking, camping . . . you name it, I probably like it. But now that’s all changed (for 6 - 12 month only, I hope!).
I started this blog to keep track of the journey, for posterity, for friends, family, and other well-wishers to get info they’ve asked for, to support others in this community, for some “writing therapy” when things get tough, and to remind myself to practice the 4 Ps.
Thanks for stopping by.
