Stairs
December 5, 2008
So, I have stopped going to rehab quite a while ago. I have been slacking in my workouts due to my busy coaching schedule. I decided today was the day to go run some stairs. Did about 8 flights in a three story apartmetnt. Achilles feels good. PT said it healed very thick. Also, I had progressed and healed well after the surgery and boot. If I can start moving again and stop being so fat and lazy, I might just get my health back! One step at a time….
Countdown to two shoes.

I’ve got 10 hours until I get rid of the boot and start hitting the rehab. I don’t know what to expect from the rehab. What exercises did everyone do? I’m sure it will be a lot of calf raise type movements and balance. I’m sure it’ll be some bike riding as well. I already walk in two shoes around the apartments anyway, but i’m ready to rehab. 3x a week is my goal. WOOOOO!
De Boot
September 12, 2008
thursday is the day I meet the doc and hopefully de boot. I walk around every once in a while without the boot on and the leg feels good. The main difference I can feel is the lack of strength in the leg. Who knows what the rehab routine is like? Anxious to get goin so I can strengthen.
What to expect?

So the achilles is stretching out and I can almost move around without the boot in the house without a hitch. The achilles feels great, starting to stretch out, with no pain. What did everyone else feel around this time? I’m almost to week six, almost two weeks in a boot. I discussed with my gf yesterday about how good it felt. I just don’t know what to expect in terms of tightness or feeling when I walk. So far, so good here.
Ballooning Belly

So, being from the South, I love to eat. I won’t diet too much but shy away from too many sodas and chips and candies. What does everyone do to stay fit? I called the doc to see if I can swim but i’ve yet to hear back. Any suggestions? Who’s got Achilles-in-boot workout plans?
I do some weights and machines, but I need cardio back!
To Drive
August 25, 2008
So, after 2 weeks in a splint followed by 2 in a hard cast i am in my boot now. Oh what a feeling! Due to the need for me to make some money (bills and such) I have decided to drive. I am extra carefull and use my left to brake. I take the boot off and put a sandal on to drive. I try to bend more at the knee than use my ankle and pronate. Hopefully I am not doing any damage. Any thoughts?
