So I found a 2010 model Vacocast on Craigslist. Everyone seems to like Vacocast best, but is it worth $200 to upgrade from a fairly comfortable Ossur? Main advantage I can see would be to maybe shave some weight, and find an outlet for my gearhead tendencies now that sports are out.
Boot upgrade?

I used a Vacocast boot and when the time comes to sell it I would be asking $200- with shipping and taxes I spent over $400 on it. Make sure it is the achilles boot, there are a few models and of course it is your size. I thought the boot was great, comfortable and loved the rocker sole. If you are happy with the boot you are in I can’t say it would be essential though

If your Ossur has a hinged joint, I’d probably stay with it and spend $ on something else. I do like hinged boots tho, to smooth the transition to 2 shoes.

No hinge on the Ossur. I just added a link to a photo of the used Vaco.

The link to the photo doesn’t seem to be working

I’m getting “This webpage has a redirect loop”.
UWO got excellent results with a fixed (non-hinged) boot (AirCast), so it’s obviously not essential. But it seems logical that hinged boots would help, and most Vaco owners do love it.
