How it all happened….part 2

Published by c17loadmaster

My surgeon Dr Shanfield, (by the way Great Doc!), replied with “for surgery,” which took me by surprise. It was a good thing I had drank my coffee and had a protein bar because I was already in the “No Food or Drinking window”. So at 530pm on March 15th, I went under the knife to repair my Achilles tendon. The surgery went well it lasted about 90 minutes with the only change being my tear was higher up then expected so I have longer incision. Chicks dig scars anyway so its cool!

The two questions I have for other ATR patients would be; 1. What was your level of pain pre-surgery? and 2. Are there any military ATR patients out there?

The first three days post surgery were the worst! I am glad I had the pain meds. Now its day 8 and I have little to no pain again. Its strange to me to have torn something almost in half and feel very little pain. Good luck on you surgery and recovery!
