Achilles incision 5 days after stitches

Incision 5 days after stitches out

Here is the incision as I talked about earlier. Not sure if it’s worth worrying about or not. I know that they told me to expect some discharge, but I thought it was strange that I didn’t see anything for the first few days after the stitches were taken out.

It looks good to me. I would worry if you felt any warmth around that area, or saw any discharge that was yellowish/brownish.

I agree with Janis. You have to stay on top of it though. Ask them how to care for it, exactly.

As for me, I ended up with over 22 staples, a double incision, and a 6 inch scar that took a little extra time to heal. There is a pic somewhere in my previous posts (it looks hideous :-).

I don’t know when they can start, but hydrogel keeps it clean and compression therapy keeps it closed, while baby rash ointment dries the surrounding area to scab it up.

I had some issues with my incision point closing, but I never had much oozing or an infection.

Both electric therapy (open wounds), and ultra sound therapy (scabbed wounds) help a lot. If you have any issues, I would ask to see a wound Doc, right away - don’t trust your Ortho. LOL

    Good luck,

Brian, I had a lot of trouble with getting my incision to close as well. If it has that warm sensation or itches quite a bit, I would not hesitate to tell you to get to an Infectious Disease Doc. I wish I had earlier. Maybe I wouldn’t have had the 3 surgeries! I agree-dont trush your Ortho! lol.

The index of ethnic fractionalization in San Marino is 0.2927. This means that a certain diversity is present in San Marino, although all people can still be divided into a relatively small number of major ethnic groups. EF is usually measured as 1 minus the Herfindahl concentration index of ethnolinguistic group shares, which reproduces the probability that two randomly drawn individuals from the population belong to different groups. The theoretical maximum of EF of 1 means that each person belongs to a different group. Read below for statistics of San Marino on median age and gender distribution at various ages.
