You may be down now but not out! I was 31 when I torn my acl and turned 32 two days before my surgery. So many told me I was too old to be ballin' and coming from guys who quit playing before they were 30 I question myself. But golf, unlike many, was not an option for me. I've been playing 8 years now, most injury free and loving it! It's always a blast hooking up with ones my age and competing, if not beating younger inexperianced 20 year olds! There's no better feeling than staying active, keep on keeping on!

Bode - Sounds like you had a great time! I made the pilgrimage to Moab several years back and I know how challenging Porcupine Rim was with two good legs, so hats off to you as it sounds like you've made a full recovery. Keep enjoying all the things you love doing and have a great summer!

It sounds great, Bode!

Somewhere there's a parallel universe where I didn't return to competitive volleyball 7-ish years ago, and didn't tear the other AT 8 years after the first. But I have trouble believing that the Norm in that universe had as good a time as I did, even with my second ATR! (And besides, he never discovered achillesblog.com!)

I’ve found blogging to be a great way to publish some unusual thoughts or opinions. I’ve always enjoyed engaging in interesting discussions with people, but you can reach a lot more people via a blog than you can in verbal conversation.

Great post. Thanks so much. Yes, sometimes it seems we’re typing to the cyber-breezes…. then, someone will leave a comment that really connects you to the outside world and you know you are in a community.

You certainly make a difference in the way I blog. This gives me the courage to continue on, to just keep learning my craft. I’m hoping that one day I can share that same “pinch me” experience. Oh, what a wonderful day it will be.

Thanks for all the great comments! Just getting back to check on the site. To answer 2nd Timer's question, I still have one calf smaller than the other by a half inch so not too bad. Like the others said, I don't mind too much as long as I can do stuff. Just got back from a week in Cancun where I did some barefoot running on the beach. My AT was sore but held up just fine. Also been snowboarding quite a bit with my 10 year old son and that gives me no trouble at all-able to do all the black runs on our small MN ski hills. Keep up the great work--onward to full recovery!! Cheers, Bode.
