Its been sometime since I looked at this site…. I suppose when everything is going fine your mind forgets about the things that helped… including this site…. well its been almost 5 months post ATR…. I walk without a limp …. still do physio…… I have been signed off by the doctors……. I use a wobble board…… and everthing seems ok….. I must say with the cold weather I get a pain in the injured tendon…. I assume this is normal…… I wish everyone a Happy New Year….. and thank all those folks who have chatted with me on this site……. I will try and write again when I remember…. but I am now trying to get back to normality…. with work… home etc etc

Hi Friend, I am responding because I too am approaching my 5 month anniversary. I understand what you mean about getting back to normal and temporarily forgetting about this site. I still need to check in once in a while and take a few minutes to read a few posts. I admit though that I do not post myself as much as I should. This site has been an great component to my psychological recovery. Thank goodness for Dennis for making it possible.
My recovery has been remarkable. I am a retired competitive gymnast, age 40, mother of 3 daughters, gym teacher, and was in good shape until I ruptured in late August. Wow! what a blow (I guess that is a good pun). I am currently jumping on a trampoline, can do cartwheels, and can jog (just a little bit). It is amazing how the body can heal. I consider myself about 85% better. I truly feel, through all the research I have done, that it will be about month 7 when we feel really good again. For now I am REALLY APPRECIATING being able to function normally. What an experience this has been. It really sucked but possibly it has made us better people somehow. Best of luck in your recovery. Stay in touch. Melissa
