Yes its been almost 10 weeks since the injury…. and I am walking…. mainly with crutches…. sometimes without…… I have now had 2 Physio sessions, on the NHS…… everything looks positive…. foot swells a bit… still resting when I can….. I can walk (hobble) up and down stairs (about 3 days ago)… using crutches as support and moving good leg first…… the physio has given me some ultrasound on the tendon… to encourage healing… the stretching excercises are very important…. he said do it to be uncomfortable not painful…… for a conservative all things seem good…. I find it important to ensure that I am wearing the site boots when moving outside the house or office… they have high ankle protection padding so the risk of twisting ankle is minimised……. I hope others are getting good results… its slow but in time is worth it….

I had my 1st physio session today…. on the NHS…… the therapist was very helpful… and sent me away with a useful excercise routine on paper, after getting me to perform them infront of him… I will see him again next week… he said positive things about the injury…. i felt he was surprise it was a full rupture and a conservative route… but he has thoroughly checked the injury and can see its giong to be okay…. he considers that since the tubes around the tendon was in place he would have considered it a partial rupture, however he said he was not a doctor.

I have just come back from the NHS clinic… without a cast or even a boot.
The senior surgeon looked at the foot…. wants me back in 2 months…. and booked into physio asap….. (this Thursday)…. he wants me to take it easy but start to put weight on my leg … still with crutches ….. then start walking….. but no moon boot. Fornutately I took my site boots along… just it case a scenario like this could have happened. Here is a picture of my foot as it now is …… fresh from the clinic…….
