Progress!

February 18, 2016 | |

Week 11 and incision is nicely healed! OS said I could resume PT. Cant get in till next Monday but hit the gym and dide band work, standing BW calf raises, seated calf raises with weight of only machine, AND 15mins of Elliptical type machine with another 10mins of intervals on stationary bike! It felt glorious!! I am determined to start jogging by end of march and start full marathon training type running by May! Things are finally looking up!!

Congrats on the progress but don’t push yourself beyond what your PT and doctor say. From what I’ve been reading here, it can still takes up to a year for a complete tear to heal 100%. It can be less depending on individual circumstances but following the rules is the key.

Congrats, amag3232, on getting back to working out. I got tired just reading of all the work you did, but I admit I’m not planning on running a marathon either. :-)
In my case, my doctor reminded me that my tendon would take over 10 more months to fully heal (I am non-surgical protocol) and “no running, no jumping”… and such. That’s why I have to agree with Metonia in the reminder to work closely with your physical therapist and OS.

    Good luck! … Manny

Congrats amag3232, I’m really glad to hear that the incision is all closed up now. Enjoy all the exercising!
