One-year anniversary
September 19, 2012
It’s hard to believe it was about one year ago that I had the big operation to put back together my achilles tendon. I have come a long way and I am pretty positive about the aftermath and rehab. I think my calf muscle on the injured side is still slowly increasing in strength. I do hope the year mark will not be the end of my rehab progress, and I am still hopeful that eventually I will be able to do a heel raise, even just half of one.

Hi Ahnadlass,
Congrats on reaching your 1 year milestone! I’m sure that you will continue making progress - just keep up the positive attitude, and your activities and rehab that keep the leg improving. You can still do a heck of a lot of great stuff without doing a heel raise, so no worries there.
I’m at 8 months post ATR now, and am just starting some drills to get myself ready for sprinting and explosive moves again. My goal is to get back on the indoor football/soccer pitch soon after my 1 year ATR anniversary. At 53 years young, I’m not willing to push too hard to get back quicker, especially if it means risking another significant injury
I hope you can get back to playing football/soccer soon as well!
Good luck! John
