13 weeks. First full Physio and pains
So far so good with my ATR repair procedure.
Physio yesterday showed my ROM is now about 95%. Still stiff and tight to push my knee forwards, but getting there.
Also managed 2 minutes on the stepper, 4 on stationary bike and 5 on treadmill.
Am now enrolled on a gym class thing for lower body. Like circuits under strict guidance I suppose.
Today was a little stiffer than normal which I expected, but this evening I have been suffering a sharp stabbing pain in the AT area every 10 minutes or so.
Not had it before and I had previously used my ice and compression pack for 20 minutes as normal.
Movement and strength seem ok so wonder if I have either tweaked a nerve or scar tissue is getting dislodged etc.
Don’t really want to be going back to the docs at this stage.
Any thoughts out there ?
Welcome to the world of doing something after doing nothing for so long. You will hear my says lot “little and often” as doing a lot or too much, which can be good, will leave you recovering for longer afterwards. Plenty of massage for the tendon and follow RICE
Hi bcurr.
I guessed it would be something along those lines.
The sharp pains went away last night and have not returned, and I also seem to have full ROM in my bad leg now. (When just moving my foot in free air. Still nowhere near the stretch of the good foot when pushed)
Today it actually feels a little stronger too, almost as if I have turned a corner.
Not going to get comfortable and take it for granted thought, as I have a long way to go still.
My leg and calf are now very near what I’d expect size wise first thing in the morning, and that is significantly smaller than the good one. By the end of the day I have a lot of swelling in my calf down to above the ankle.
I will be buying another pump up ice pack for this when I get paid next week, as the right angle one for my foot and ankle appears to have worked wonders.
Going well all in all. :o)
